Meet Our Providers

Dr. Kirsten Cox
Physician
As a family physician, I am blessed to have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and their families. These relationships allow me to see the big picture. This better aids our practice in setting healthful goals for our patients, so as to improve their lives.
As a physician, I strive for open communication with my patients built on honesty, compassion, and trust. I hope to relieve pain and suffering whenever possible. And, if it is God’s will, to heal my patients and cure disease. Ultimately, by doing this, I am providing quality care, improving health, and bringing joy to my patients’ lives.
I thoroughly enjoy caring for patients of all ages. From a baby with a simple cold to an elderly person with a long list of challenging medical problems, I love interacting with each individual. Being a doctor allows me to help people in many unique ways.
Patients can become overwhelmed when receiving information from various sources, including their multiple specialists. I enjoy that I am here to help patients interpret and combine this information into something understandable and useful. Improving communication, understanding, and educating are roles I take very seriously.
Prevention is also vitally important if we are to live longer and, more importantly, healthier lives. Cancer screening, immunizations, and diabetes and cholesterol screening are routinely performed at Cox Family Practice.
The Student and Working Professional
I graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1995, and I received my medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1999, also in Dayton. I completed my family practice residency in Akron, OH at Akron City Hospital Summa Health Systems in 2002.
I have been very pleased with my choice to live in North Carolina. I have worked in Asheboro, NC since 2002, and I am very happy to call the Triad my home.
On the Move
I relocated to this wonderful state from the bitter cold of Ohio, and I thoroughly enjoy the beautiful North Carolina weather and country. I love the mountains and the ocean and am able to get to both easily.
I have been blessed to fall deeply in love and marry a perfect southern gentleman, William Damon Cox, of Randleman, NC. I have 2 wonderful children, Nicolas Austin and Sydney Danielle. I could not be happier with or prouder of my family and my new home state.
I enjoy being a physician, and I love helping patients improve their health by listening to their needs and by combining my knowledge of medicine with their knowledge of their bodies and minds.
I find most people are shocked by how approachable I am and how open I am to listening to them. I hope that you will also feel at ease with me if you choose to make Cox Family Practice your medical provider.
