Providing Televisits for Our Randolph County, NC Patients
While we enjoy seeing our patients face-to-face at Cox Family Practice, we understand it’s not always feasible. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recent surges in the number of local cases, we’ve had an increase in the need for televisits in Randolph County, NC. Televisits include telephone visits and e-visits with one-on-one video interactions between patients and our providers (either a physician or physician assistant). As a Cone Health Medical Group member, patient safety and well-being are always high on our list of priorities. If you require a face-to-face office visit, we’ll assess the situation and schedule the appropriate appointment. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have when scheduling televisit appointments. We’re here for you!

How to Prepare for Your First Televisit Appointment
Televisits are convenient and may be conducted from your smartphone, tablet, or other digital device. We’ll send you a complete list of instructions prior to your televisit, including a link that you must click. Be sure your device is fully charged or plugged in on the day of your appointment and any necessary apps have been downloaded in advance. We recommend choosing a quiet room in your home to avoid any interruptions by family members or roommates. Be sure to write down any symptoms and how long they’ve been bothering you, as well as any questions you need to ask your physician.
We may require you to provide us with some basic vitals during your televisit appointment, including your temperature, blood pressure, or pulse. If any labwork or follow-ups are needed, we’ll schedule them. It’s important to note that televisits are charged similarly to standard office visits. Please be sure we have your current insurance card and information to file a claim with your insurance provider. It is the patient’s responsibility to pay any copays, deductibles, or denials by their insurance company. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns regarding our televisit services.
